Losi Mini Rock Crawler Unveiled!!!

It’s finally here, the Losi Mini-Rock Crawler. Up until this point we were pretty sure the Losi crawler would be a 2.2″ 1/10 design, but it turned out to be a 1/18 scale crawler running 1.9″ wheels! We also have official confirmation that the Mini-Rock Crawler will come ready to run with high torque motor, high torque mini servo, and ESC with drag brake. It’s also running a new body, the “Tuber” named after it’s tube like design. After the jump we’ve got the full specs and many more pictures.
Update: More pictures added!

More Losi Rock Crawler Information

We’ve gotten ahold of more information on the upcoming Losi rock crawler. (Grappler?) According to Losi it will include a ultra lightweight chassis, multi link suspension, metal ring and pinion gears, and a 3 gear transmission. The combination of that description and the pictures we posted yesterday leads us to believe this truck will run a center mounted motor/transmission like most 2.2″ crawlers are running these days. What was most telling is that Losi confirmed the new crawler will come as a RTR with an included high torque motor, ESC, and “vehicle specific” servo. Check back tomorrow for the full story.

Tamiya informed us today that within the next week they will be launching a new website dedicated to the Tamiya rock crawling enthusiast. If Tamiya’s 3 speed website is any indication we’d expect the new site to include forums dedicated to the CR01 and other Tamiya based crawlers, and an image gallery for members to post their creations. Plans are to launch the new site next week.

Haven’t seen this before. It looks like the owner of this Tamiya CR01 Land Cruiser cut off the back of the body and made it into a pickup truck of sorts. I’m surprised we haven’t seen even more radical transformations of this truck yet. In time, in time…

Do you have a video you think would make a great video of the week? Send it along!
