Hey Guys

I picked this up about a month or so ago, for a 100 dollars. It was worth every penny to me.

That looks a lot like my old truck. Mine was a extended cab though. That is what I am going to try and do is build one like that. I don't know if I have the "scale building" expertise though. I guess we'll see. I am going to go and dig up some pics of it at the sand dunes and scan them. I will post them up later. That is a cool buy for a $100 bones....

My truck we made custom and tore the IFS off of it and put a Ford Dana 60 front axle on it with 12" of lift and a 3" body lift. Had 40in. Super Swampers on it. I miss that truck but I only used it when I went to the dunes and I got offered $23K for it and I took it. Actually sold it to a Pool Company owner and he installed a pool at the house for it. Was a cool trade for the family, I will have one again. My wife told me a couple months ago she was going to go and buy me a brand new pickup in January. She was bummed cause she wanted to keep it for a surprise but I was almost buying another used truck and she said no not right now and I was like well I need a truck honey. That is when she had to bust on the surprise. So I think I am going to get a Ford Super Duty, but I just don't know yet.

Cool work Jeffro, I saw your pic up on RCMT. Is that the Clod in the picture??

You saw my picture, are you ok :) Yeah, if your talkin about the box thats behind me in that pic. I wanted the box almost as much as the truck itself. 8-)

Thank You for noticing my work, Im trying.
Sounds like you had a sweet truck. I've always wanted something like that, just never have got it done. My 1:1 truck is paid for at least, I want a new one, but I can't do it at the moment. Your wife sounds like a good girl, there hard to find sometimes.

As far as the bodywork on these things is not too bad. Im thinkin Im in over my head, take a look

Thanks Mike. Im glad you like it.
I made a few changes to the cab doors, but I still need to work on the center post, or door jamb, whatever you call it :)
My changes so far. I had to straighten up the window arch door frame.

Now, I found these pics, so a few changes are in order, (I like mine better) look at the crazy door line between the front and back doors, right by the door handle.

This is gonna be a rough week in the real world for me, so I may not get much done, but we shall see.

Well, I survived the week. I didn't get a whole lot done, but here's a couple updated pics. I have ended up having to make my own chassis, and I was originally going to use links to hang the differentials which are TLT axles, but I 've changed my mind to use leafs. See what you think. Its still really rough looking.

Shoot it might be rough looking now, but we all know what the finished product is going to be. Sheer sweetness!! I love it

Wow, Thank you for that vote of confidence, I need it right now. :) This is more of a challenge then the Blazer was.
Its a roller now, sort of. I've got the axles where I want them. I had to make the chassis plus the shackles and 2 of the perches. See what you guys think so far. I'll try and get pics up of the chassis this evening, but here is the body mocked up on the chassis

Thank you, I'll take all the confidence I can gather up.

Here's my homemade chassis. Its not beautiful by any means, but it will get the job done. I still need to figure out a couple of crossmembers, and where everything will sit, but I think I have plenty of room.
